Stonyhurst College Wedding, Lancashire
Natalie & David’s wedding was nothing short of amazing! They tied the knot at the school where they met: Stonyhurst College near Clitheroe in Lancashire. Their wedding ceremony took place at the on site Jesuit Church of St. Peter - a beautifully ornate structure built in 1835, and probably the grandest of all the churches I’ve photographed in. The ceremony itself lived up to the surroundings - David’s father is the organist for the church and performed the walking down the aisle music, as well as accompanying David’s brother and sister for a selection of hymns during the signing of the register. After the ceremony was complete we relocated to the grand hall in the school grounds for a canapés and champagne reception. We snuck off at this point for a photo opportunity at the spot where Natalie & David put the world to right during their school lunchtime - a ledge by a corridor window outside the school gym! It was so funny listening to them both reminisce about their school days and recite the stories about how they spent every lunchtime together. We then explored the grounds for some more portraits and headed to the local village hall at Hurst Green to continue the celebrations. The decorations were entirely hand made by friends and family, and the hall looked just amazing. Speeches followed, as did a delicious dinner and then the real party began as the Ceilidh band kickstarted the Scottish Country Dancing. Natalie & David Stripped the Willow, Dashed the White Sergeant and got stuck into a Gay Gordon’s and we continued into the early hours. It’s obviously just the Scottish in me, but I do love a good Ceilidh at a wedding so much! I can’t thank Natalie & David enough for having me along to shoot their wedding. Their choice of venue was simply magnificent, they’re a wonderful couple and I wish them all the best in their married life together :)
