Gibbon Bridge Hotel Wedding, Lancashire
Gillian and Marc’s wedding took place on a gorgeous August summer’s day last year. I hopped over the Pennines to meet them at the Gibbon Bridge Hotel, near Preston. I was so glad they chose me to be their wedding photographer. It’s such a perfect venue especially when the sun shines on it’s beautiful gardens. Gillian and Marc were fortunate enough that we had the perfect weather and used the bandstand for their outdoor ceremony. The gardens (23 acres worth, and multiple award winning I might add) are so well kept and all the blossoming flowers were so bright and colourful I knew we just had to use them as a backdrop for some seriously vivid portraits! I spent the morning photographing Marc and his groomsmen getting ready at their home in Blackpool; we had champagne within arms reach and England playing cricket on the telly while Marc’s best man James was on ironing duty - quite a rare sight to behold from what I gathered! The whole day took place at Gibbon Bridge (ceremony and reception) and it just worked perfectly, there was no rushing in between venues or scrabbling about for taxis.
Gillian looked stunning in her wedding dress and the bouquet matched the wild flowers in the garden beautifully as if it had all been planned (it definitely had been planned, and very well!) After a delicious feeding we headed round the back of the hotel away from all the guests for a quick portrait session and the timing was perfect as the sun was setting and cast a golden glow on the surrounding landscape. Who knew Lancashire could be so beautiful and picturesque?! Gillian and Marc were naturals in front of the camera and relaxed perfectly as we took some awesome wedding portraits.
Afterwards we headed back to the reception room for dancing and partying galore. What a fantastic day and perfect setting for such a beautiful couple. Gibbon Bridge Hotel you absolutely pulled it out the bag! Thanks so much for having me and well done to all involved; what a perfect wedding.
