The Priests House Wedding

Lizzie & Amy married in July of this year in the stunning setting of The Priests House. Just a stone’s throw from Bolton Abbey, this beautiful 15th century chapel is steeped in history and surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. What I particularly love about the chapel at The Priests House is how the interior is beautifully lit with it’s huge windows and natural light, not what you’d expect from such a historical landmark. It makes for such incredible and dramatic photos that my job becomes a whole lot easier without even thinking about it!

Lizzie & Amy stayed the night before in the nearby town of Grassington, where they had their hair and make up styled and applied in the BnB before making their way to The Priests House. It was a real military operation ensuring neither bride caught a glimpse of the other before setting eyes on each other for the first time that day in the chapel. The ceremony was just wonderful with beautiful vows and live music from guitarist Ste Forshaw as the brides entered and walked down the aisle.

Bubbly and canapés followed with a big group confetti shot before I whisked away the newlyweds for a quick portrait shot or two by the ruins of Barden Tower, overlooking The Priests House. We returned for some delicious food and brilliant speeches before the evening party kicked off with a live DJ and plenty dancing, even managing to sneak in a quick game of beer pong or two before the night was over. What a fantastic day and a stunning venue for the perfect wedding; congratulations Lizzie & Amy! Thanks so much for having me along to take your photos and for being so amazing on the day, also to everyone involved at the venue in making it so special, The Priests House really is a wonderful spot and I can’t wait to be back there next summer.
