August 2021. Finally I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at the absolutely incredible Left Bank Leeds - what a venue! It’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to photograph, and being just round the corner from me I couldn’t believe it took me so long to finally fulfil my dream.
Christina & Cathal’s beautiful wedding ceremony took place in Shipley where Christina got ready at her mums before heading to the Catholic church. She arrived in style with her mum and bridesmaids in an amazing vintage cream VW Campervan before our bride and groom married in front of a large congregation of friends and family. Christina looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress while Cathal scrubbed up equally well in his suit. After the ceremony we hopped outside for some confetti and a few group shots before all piling over to Left Bank in Leeds.
Self described as “a progressive space for creativity, culture and community, set inside a beautiful Grade II* listed former church building”, Left Bank absolutely did not disappoint. Christina & Cathal (and friends) had decorated the interior so beautifully with hanging flowers, festoon lighting and candles galore. It was a large wedding but the space is so big that there was plenty room with space to spare.
After some bubbly and a three course meal we had speeches and a few more portraits before the whole space was transformed into an evening party venue with live music and lights, and we finished with a sparkler tunnel at the end of the night. What an evening to round off a perfect day. Congratulations Christina & Cathal and thanks so much to all involved in making it such a wonderful day, especially to all the staff and helpers at Left Bank Leeds for looking after and feeding me. Here’s to the next one!
