Sarah & Reay’s Yorkshire Dales wedding took place in the quaint village of Kirkby Malham in July of this year. The beautiful church in the village was where the ceremony took place with the reception in a marquee at Sarah’s parents’ farmhouse within walking distance. Malhamdale is one of my favourite areas of the Dales with it’s dry stone walls and iconic waterfalls and rock formations, a Yorkshire heaven! Sarah got ready at her parents’ house with her bridesmaids and mum while Reay and the boys were at a BnB in Malham. He looked very smart in his kilt and full military regalia while Sarah wore her chic wedding dress beautifully.
It certainly wasn’t the sunniest of days and the rain played a big part but spirits remained high nonetheless - it wouldn’t be Malhamdale without a spot or two of rain. Guests arrived at the beautiful church to the sound of the ringing bells and were greeted by a military guard of honour. Sarah arrived shortly afterward with her bridal party and the ceremony began. There were readings from Sarah’s sisters and Reay’s best man and the service was held jointly by the church’s vicar and also the vicar from the church where Reay grew up in Scotland. It was a fabulous affair and a beautiful ceremony. We exited to a confetti throw and a walk round to the house where the bubbly was waiting.
After a quick stop for some portraits amongst the flowers in the beautiful garden we had speeches, dinner, cake, and a partied the night away with a great live band - The Warning Tones. Thanks to all involved in making it such a special day, especially Sarah & Reay for being such great sports and Allanah the wedding planner for helping organise absolutely everything! What a day in Malhamdale it was and Yorkshire for the win, once again.
