In August I had the huge privilege of capturing Lisa & Gary’s fabulous wedding photos at Skipbridge Country Weddings - a gorgeous farm wedding venue situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside. What a beautiful spot it is - especially in the glorious summer sunshine that came out to play for our lovely couple.
Skipbridge Country Weddings is run by brother and sister Bronte and Tom who, with their many years of experience in events and weddings, make sure that the day is well organised and solve problems before they’ve even become a problem. Being only a short distance from York city centre it’s easily accessible for guests travelling from afar but really feels like you could be in the middle of absolutely nowhere with nothing but fields and farm animals for neighbours!
Lisa & Gary made the most of the sunshine by having an outdoor ceremony where they said their I Do’s in front of their nearest and dearest. Afterwards we had cocktails and canapés before sitting down for some beautiful speeches. A delicious three course meal was served and then we hopped into the adjacent field for some stunning portraits as the sun was beginning to set (my absolute favourite time of day for outdoor photos!)
Even after the sun had gone down, our bride and groom and their guests enjoyed the outdoor nature of the venue with a pizza van and campfires. As the DJ began his set we all headed into the marquee for a boogie and a beer and partied into the wee hours. What an amazing end to a beautiful day. Big thanks to all the staff at Skipbridge Country Weddings for making it so special and also to Lisa & Gary for having me along to capture it. When the sun shines down upon the Yorkshire countryside there really is nowhere better for a fab outdoor wedding with some wonderful people!
