Nicola & George had a beautiful October wedding at Sandburn Hall, an amazing venue set against literally hundreds of acres of woodland and lakes on the outskirts of York. The wedding space is a beautiful part of the building featuring dozens of huge wooden beams and impassively large windows allowing an incredible amount of natural light to burst into the ceremony area. The autumn sun shone hard for Nicola & George and we really made the most of the beautiful light throughout the day, I literally couldn’t have planned it any better if I had the option!
Nicola and her bridesmaids got ready on site in the beautiful and modern hotel, there was bubbly and snacks galore while makeup was applied and hair was styled. Meanwhile George was steadying his wedding morning nerves by playing a round of golf with family members and guests, competing for the eponymous and much heralded “Aberdein-Pritchard Nuptials Open” - what a way to kick off your wedding day.
The ceremony was stunning as the sun shone on our newlyweds and afterwards there was bubbly and canapés in the bar with a few group photos before I whisked the couple away for ten minutes for a quick portrait session in the amazing grounds of Sandburn Hall as the sun was beginning to set.
After sitting down back in the main room after it had been turned around by the staff there were speeches (featuring a hilarious photo slideshow of snaps from George’s past) and a delicious meal. Following that we had an amazing ceilidh with a live band featuring accordion, fiddle, percussion and guitar and we danced the night away with do-si-do’s and Dashing White Sergeants aplenty. It was the perfect end to a most incredible wedding and the perfect day. Thank you to all the staff at Sandburn Hall for making it so special and congratulations to Nicola & George. Thanks for having me along to document the fun!
