Rhiannon & Ben’s beautiful summer wedding took place in The Priests House at the historic ruins of Barden Tower. Set in the estate of Bolton Abbey in the stunning Yorkshire Dales, Barden Tower is a medieval fortified ruin on the banks of the River Wharfe. Amazing scenery surrounds the venue and the fantastic scenery combined with the tower’s rich history make for a really special venue for a stunning Yorkshire wedding!
Both bride and groom got ready at the nearby Devonshire Arms Hotel with their children and other friends and family in tow. The sun shone hard and therefore we had some gorgeous photos in the grounds at both venues.
The ceremony took place in the chapel room which had been beautifully decorated with flowers and candles by the staff at Barden Tower and there was a pianist playing the grand piano on the stage behind where the service took place.
Rhiannon was walked down the aisle by her father to a nervously waiting Ben and the ceremony followed, bursting with emotion and joy. Afterwards we went outside for canapés, bubbly and lawn games before some group photos. Before sitting back down in the chapel which had been transformed into the dining area for food.
Once the speeches had finish I stole Rhiannon & Ben away for a quick ten minutes of couple portraits. The grounds at Barden Tower are perfect for when I need to whisk the coupe away for a few private photos away from the onlooking wedding guests! The neighbouring field came in very handy and the beautiful summer flowers and plants really made for a fabulous splash of colour complimenting Rhiannon’s bouquet beautifully.
Live music and dancing aplenty followed and we partied into the wee hours, a lovely end to a beautiful Yorkshire wedding. Thanks to everyone for making it such a special day and CONGRATULATIONS to Rhiannon & Ben, thanks for having me along to document it!
