Here’s another fabulous Scottish wedding coming your way on the blog: Ollie & Anna became Mr and Mrs Margerison last October and it was a brilliant day. They married at The Rhynd in Leuchars which is a new venue to me but it is certainly one I’d love to visit again. It’s a rustic barn surrounded by glorious fields and Fife countryside. The sun shone all day long and it made for a perfect day. We started with Anna having her hair and make up done with her bridesmaids at her parents’ house in Dundee. A few small-ish glasses of Prosecco later, a short trip over the River Tay to the venue in a fab vintage sports car and we were at their wedding venue.
The barn had been decorated so beautifully by the couple’s friends and family with fairy lights, greenery and bunting galore - it looked so handsome with all the rustic brickwork and barn features. Their humanist ceremony was a real spectacle with music and poetry performed by guests throughout. Ollie even went so far as to sing his vows for Anna which flowed seamlessly into a tear jerking rendition of 500 Miles by the Proclaimers - there wasn’t a dry eye and it raised more than a few smiles at the same time, no mean feat!
We popped outside shortly after for some beautiful portraits in the low autumn sun, making use of the surrounding countryside and even the poly tunnel in the adjacent field. Food and speeches followed with an incredible operatic interval from Ollie’s uncle and then the real party began: Anna and Ollie (being musicians themselves) arranged a night of bands and ceilidh dancing throughout the evening with Anna’s talented mum featuring on the accordion. We partied into the wee hours and slipped outside for a few final night time portraits. What an amazing day! Thanks so much to Anna & Ollie for being fab and to everyone at The Rhynd for looking after me so well, a truly unforgettable wedding.
