Lydia & Edward’s glorious summer wedding took me to the North Yorkshire Moors, it was a fabulously sunny June day and what an amazing spot for a wedding. Deepdale Farm Weddings near Kirkbymoorside was their chosen location with it’s huge stunning barns and amazing views of the undulating moors and dales that make this part of the country so special. If it’s a rustic barn wedding in Yorkshire you’re looking for, and I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t be, then I absolutely can’t recommend Deepdale Farm enough; the balance between rustic charm and perfect wedding chic is perfectly struck on all fronts. Lydia got ready with her girls at a cottage at Rosedale Abbey while Edward and the groomsmen got dressed at the hotel in nearby Pickering before making their way to Deepdale.
Their ceremony took place inside the beautiful wooden barn in front of friends and family before spending most of the afternoon outside in the glorious Yorkshire sunshine (yes it does exist and yes it is fabulous!) We made the most of the breath-taking vista with some group shots and couple portraits with champagne and beers and nibbles before heading back inside for food, speeches and more wedding cheese and crackers than you can imagine, my idea of heaven!
We hopped outside for a few more sunset photos before hitting the dance floor hard and partying into the night, only stopping briefly for a delicious hand made pizza or three - many thanks to Joe at the Wood Fired Pizza Company, my compliments to the chef. What a fabulous day we had, thank you so much Lydia and Edward for being such great sports and for smiling and laughing literally all day long (it makes my job so much easier!) Also thank you kindly to Helen at Hel’s Bells Wedding Planning and all the staff at Deepdale Farm for helping out and looking after me so well. Yet another stunning Yorkshire wedding ticked off the list! Wherever next?! Here’s a little peek at some of my favourite shots from the day…
