Cow Shed Crail Wedding, Scotland

Anna & Ty tied the knot in October at the wonderful Cow Shed in Crail, Scotland. Being a proud Fifer myself I was very keen to make the trip back home to photograph their beautiful wedding. It was a rustic DIY affair; Anna’s mum made the cake herself along with the incredible hand made flower wall in front of which the ceremony was held. The Cow Shed is such a beautiful venue for a wedding - it’s literally a disused and converted barn with exposed brickwork in abundance and oozes character and style. Anna got dressed and ready with her bridesmaids (in matching dressing gowns!) at the cottages on site at the Cow Shed, and her short walk to the venue was accompanied by a piper wearing the full Highland attire. Ty is from Canada so his family and friends had travelled an awful long way for the wedding. Two of his friends performed a reading during the ceremony followed by a ceremonial “Quaich” where Anna and Ty each poured a small amount of whisky into a metal cup (the mixing of the two being symbolic of their union as a married couple) and drunk away! Confetti and hors d’oeuvre shortly followed along with some more piping then the eating began - a delicious three course meal and the food did not disappoint. There wasn’t a dry eye during the speeches, Ty’s especially - his love for Anna and both families was clear for all to see and he deserved a large glass of champagne shortly after! We popped outside for some nighttime couple portraits using the festoon lights donning the Cow Shed’s exterior brick walls. The evening party then kicked off and we ceilidh’d the night away. It was such an awesome day and I was so pleased to be part of it. Anna & Ty were just brilliant throughout and the Cow Shed was the perfect setting. I really really want to go back and shoot another wedding there! Thanks to all involved, here's to Crail :~)
