Victoria & Jonathan had a rainy day wedding at the village hall in Mellor, but it certainly didn't dampen spirits and everyone had the best time. These two lovelies are childhood sweethearts who met and grew up in the area, but now both live and work in London. The village hall was the venue for school discos and birthday parties in their youth so both Victoria and Jonathan knew it very well indeed! The church was next door so at least we didn't have far to walk in the rain between the ceremony and reception. Tradition at the church states that on his wedding day, it is the groom’s responsibility to ring out the church bell, so up the tiny spiral brick staircase we climbed. Awaiting us at the top was the bell ringer himself to literally show Jonathan the ropes, along with a small nip of whisky to steady the nerves! Although it was a mostly wet day we managed to wait until a dry spell for the portraits and boy was it worth it. Victoria’s gorgeous dress stood out beautifully again the stunning backdrop of greenery on the rolling hills. These two are fab together; they make an awesome couple and it certainly showed in their pictures. They'd hand decorated the hall with their unique bunting and artwork and you couldn't help but smile upon seeing it all. The handmade touches were just perfect: from the test tube flower chandelier, to the who’s who poster of the bridesmaids and groomsmen, from the handmade gin to Victoria’s gorgeous flower bouquet. We danced the night away with a live band and a super energetic first dance. The whole day was just fantastic from start to finish, thank you so much Victoria and Jonathan for having me along to photograph your wedding, and the lesson is “don’t ever let the weather get the better of you!”
