March of this year saw me at Leanne and Helen’s wonderful wedding in Leeds. A beautiful spring day and the fabulous setting of The Tetley were the perfect backdrop for these two lovely people and their perfect day. I drive past The Tetley regularly and have always wanted to photograph a wedding there; it certainly didn’t disappoint. I just adore it’s industrial heritage and exposed brickwork not to mention the iconic rooftop illuminated sign that I can almost see from my house!
Leanne and Helen’s wedding was a casual but stylish affair. Both brides wore pastel trouser suits with floral blouses and white trainers and they looked wonderful together. Their wedding ceremony took place in what was the old boardroom on the first floor of The Tetley. A beautiful ‘All You Need Is Love’ neon sign overlooked the aisle as both brides were accompanied by their fathers as they entered. Two beautiful readings, an ‘I Do’ and a quick smooch later: Leanne and Helen were wife and wife! The large reception room downstairs was used for hors d’oeuvre and bubbly and many many congratulations hugs from all their guests. I whisked the new brides outside for a few quick portraits in the afternoon Leeds sunshine before sitting down for food. Pie and peas was on the menu (a firm favourite of mine) and was followed by speeches. Leanne and Helen did a joint speech and were followed by Helen’s father and the couple’s Best Woman. Coffee and cake were next (I know!) before the dancing and drinking began. It was a fab party all round and lots of moves were pulled on the dance floor. We nipped outside for a nighttime shot with THAT Tetley sign lit up in the night sky before carrying on the party into the wee hours. Here’s a few of my favourite photographs from the day.
Thanks so much Leanne and Helen for having me along and to all at The Tetley for looking after me so well. Isn’t Leeds fab? What a wedding!
