Rudding Park Wedding

Sophie & Will’s Yorkshire wedding took place in the absolutely stunning surrounds of Rudding Park just outside Harrogate. The venue is so gorgeous and really makes the most of the surrounding Yorkshire countryside views. The ceremony itself took place on site at the Rudding Park church - an amazing gothic revival chapel featuring some of the most gorgeous stone carvings and HUGE windows (always a photographer’s best friend!).

The day began with Sophie and her girls getting ready in one of the hotel’s lovely rooms, there was hair, there was make up, there was gin and bubbly galore! Sophie looked incredible in her wedding dress and Will scrubbed up equally well in his suit. The ceremony was beautiful and included Sophie’s bridesmaid Ali (who’s wedding I photographed a couple of years ago) playing and singing Somewhere Only We Know on the guitar. We had a confetti line outside immediately after followed by a drinks reception at the bar and entrance hall at Rudding Park. The papers were legally signed in a short ceremony upstairs before I whisked Sophie and Will out for a quick portrait session in amongst the flowers round the back of the hotel, a real find and the best kept secret at the venue!

Afterwards followed some brilliant speeches and delicious food then we partied the night away with a DJ and some classic dance floor fillers. It was the perfect finale to such a wonderful day. Rudding Park is one of my absolute favourites and it’s impossible to take a bad photo in such a fab venue - the church is to die for and the ballroom/dining room is equally beautiful. A fine spot for a wedding! Thanks so much to Sophie and Will for having me along and to everyone at Rudding Park for making it such a special day, more of the same please!
